Richard Armitage – Tornado of Love

Yesterday it was announced that Richard Armitage will be co-starring in a new tornado movie which begins filming on July 23. Here’s the story: http://insidemovies.ew.com/2012/07/11/richard-armitage-new-line-tornado-thriller-hobbit/. The film also co-stars Sarah Wayne Callies who may be playing his love interest. We don’t know anything yet, but it’s fun to conjecture!

On twitter yesterday our conversation twisted and turned, LOL! Although the working title of the film is Category Six, I thought a possible name would be Tornado of Love.

Just for fun, I decided to make a mock movie poster using this picture of a sexy shirtless Lucas North shown here with his girlfriend Maya:

Promo picture courtesy of RichardArmitageNet.Com

Below is the fake movie poster which you can click for full size:

It blew away his shirt …and his tattoos / It caused her flyaway hair / Tornado of Love / Will it throw them together?

I even included a green shed. I got the idea from Spooks season 9, episode 3:

Screencap mine

The idea for the graphic and movie title came to me when I found the picture below which I used for my base:

What do you think would be a good name for Richard Armitage’s character? Can you think of another movie title or tagline? What are some other things that could be flying around in the tornado? Inquiring minds want to know! 😀

Wow, that is excellent Bccmee, bravo !!! 🙂

I have no idea for a name for Richard’s character. I think every name would be good, except John. He has played a lot of John, lol.

  2. gracie says:

I can’t tell you enough how this led to a side splitting rioting laughter for me yesterday. Too funny and just great to speculate on how this will turn out. Great work what with the cow being thrown around for good measure in the Tornado of Love.

  3. Bccmee, this is wonderful. I’m not to thrilled with the next project (or the little we’ve heard about it), but if it’s half as good as your suggested poster, count me in!
PS. You were very naughty to use THAT image of Lucas. You know how it messes with our minds, as there’s so much *gulp* happening there!

    • Dear heavens, I’ve just noticed the ET bike on the moon backdrop LOL! You’re killing me 🙂

    • bccmee says:

@IWantToBeAPinUp: That Lucas promo picture is pure pleasure. 😉 Glad you liked the E.T. bit. I was going to add the Wicked Witch of the West on her bike, but chose E.T. instead. *giggle*

    • Brooke says:

Naughty is the right term for her. Hehe. I think many others would join us in encouraging Bccmee in bring in more images like that. It’s like medication when we are bored, in need of inspiration, or feeling stressed. 🙂

LOL! You blew away my uncertainty about Richard’s new project! ∈^0^∋
Thank you so much for sharing!

  5. Kathleen says:

I was wondering how fast you would come up with a graphic to go with the movie, and it took and instant. It’s great, too funny.

You need Dorothy and Toto in your tornado. I am with April73, the character’s name should be John and we should expect him to die in the end.

Of course what is really nice about this is that there might be new love scenes for fanvids. Can’t wait!

    • jasrangoon says:

Comments like this is why WordPress should have a like button on individual comments: “I am with April73, the character’s name should be John and we should expect him to die in the end.” LOL!

Love the poster, bcc! I would totally see this movie.

    • bccmee says:

@Kathleen: Ooh I hadn’t thought as far as fanvids…good point! ♥ If he’s named John or his character dies, we all take a drink, LOL!

  6. love4ot says:

Thank you for the first good laugh of the day! Detroit, MI will have its hottest summer EVER!

  7. Luciana says:

Bcc, you always surprises me!!! LOL
It amazes me how excited Ra fandom gets when the smallest news about him appear!! In spite of not being so thrilled about this movie project, I wish him the best!!!

  8. I tell ya what I love most about this new project — RA gets to work with A REAL AMERICAN WOMAN, not some British chick mangling a Bostonian accent. Ironically, this actress’s name REALLY IS SARAH.

    But I digress.

This graphic is hilarious! You are so creative! And quick! I mean, that story JUST came out!

As far as his love interest goes, I’m ashamed to say I’ve never seen Prison Break, but I just youtubed Sarah’s interviews, and she’s really super fun! The onscreen chemistry should be great between these two!

And on your questions … character name for a tornado movie? He needs some Greek god moniker to reflect the stormy quality of it, like Ares.

As far as what is flying around in the tornado …. hobbits.

    • bccmee says:

@lovemrthornton: Have to confess, I don’t have a TV so I’m quite out of the loop. I’ll have to check out Sarah’s interviews…thanks for the heads-up!

Good choice of names and the addition of hobbits. Wish I could fit all our ideas, LOL!

  9. LOL!!!! I knew you’re going to do something about this, you just can’t help it, can you? 😀 The flying cow is genius and the heart shaped tornado, hilarious Bcc. You know what else could be flying around? The entire RArmy! ’cause that’s exactly what we are whenever a little piece of information comes out: a toRnAdo of ideas and good laughs!!!!
*whispering* I’m not particularly fond of this new movie project, I hope I’m totally wrong but it seems to me like just another one on the same subject, nevertheless, I wish him all the best, obviously 🙂

    • bccmee says:

@Ana Cristina: As we all know, Richard Armitage will give a great performance! He always raises the level of the character’s complexity. I’m super excited and curious to see what he’ll do in this movie. 🙂 And of course, I hope he takes off his shirt, LOL!

  10. Kitty says:

A good name for Richard’s character? John, of course. What else?!?

  11. fitzg says:

Great work, bccmee! Love the allusion to the ET! (Where’s Toto?) I fully approve of Sarah W-C as a colleague (love interest?). Apparently, she is 35, married and with a daughter. Age-appropriate for potential interest. 😀 (Of course, the production and Mr. A require my approval. (I DON’T think!) Didn’t watch the Zombie thing she was in, but trust she can act…

  12. Chrissy says:

Great graphic Bccmee!! Im excited about the movie …. well Im excited about anything that Richard is starring in. Looking at the photo of Maya (from Spooks 9) makes me hope that surely this time, Richard will have a good leading lady!

  13. Well done B. They should hire you to do the movie poster 🙂

  14. ItsJSforMe says:

Excellent graphic, bcc! I am actually looking forward to severe weather alerts in the coming weeks – specifically tornado watches! Gonna keep my binoculars trained on Pontiac. 😛

  15. jazzbaby1 says:

OMG, B, this is fantastic! Let’s see, a good name for his character? Auntie Em?

  16. Faboamanto says:

    Love, love, love it Bccmee
That pic of Richard/Lucas does strange things to me 😉 😉

If the filmmakers are smart, they’ll listen to all of us. We know what will make this movie work.
Please, lets not call him John again! Hope he plays a Brit in the US so how about:

    Alistair Cyclon

To the tornado debris I would add a cell phone, or RA talking on a cell phone, his shirt flying off in the tornado, like a special effect thing, he’s a widower, so maybe a photo of his late wife with kid to add drama! LOL

    • bccmee says:

@Faboamanto: Hilarious ideas! Yes, I have to confess I’d like to see him play a Brit too. Time will tell. 😀 Love the name Alistair Cyclon. Your items for the twirling tornado would work beautifully. How funny it would be if they appeared in the actual poster for the film, LOL!

      • Mezz says:

Aahh, I’m not the only one. I realise he needs to show that he has mastered an American accent for future projects there, but I can’t see any reason why he couldn’t play a British character in this movie. Isn’t the role that of a teacher? Well, there you go! English teacher brought over to the States to teach British History! 😉

As usual, B, great work! Brought a smile to my face when I saw it.

        • bccmee says:

@Mezz: I have to admit, I would prefer the sexy British accent but nothing will keep me from seeing this movie! Ooh, if he was my teacher, I would keep failing his class till I was “of age.” 😉

        • Mezz says:

B, I don’t like disaster (natural or otherwise) movies, but I’ll seeing this one for the simple reason that Richard is in it! 🙂

  17. Brooke says:

Since it blew away his shirt, he can get more to go with his snug pants as long as he doesn’t absent-mindely take hers. Honestly, some of RA’s plain button down shirts that he wore in old photoshoots aren’t far off from a woman’s. I am thinking 2004 or 2005. Haha! Why didn’t you put his shirt getting taken in the tornado?

    • And Giggles, the green shed in your tornado movie poster made me think of Dorothy and “The Wizard of Oz” when her house plopped down on the Wicked Witch of the East. Ha!

      • bccmee says:

@Gratiana: Hahaha, yeah I wonder who the green shed could land upon?

      • Hi Bccmee,
Okay, I thought of a name for RA’s chaRActer. Tornados and twisters make me think of their initial cousins–dirt devils (swirling wisps of dried soil). And he will be a “storm chaser”. So my suggested name for his character is: Chase Devlin

And “Category 6” made my husband and I think of hurricanes. And we live in an area that sees tornadoes in the Midwest. So, how about something descriptive for the movie title? People always seem to focus on the noise of a tornado being deafening. So movie titles like : “Winds of Destruction/Devastation” or “Sound and Fury” (okay, that’s a literary reference, ha).

        Cheers! Grati ;->

  18. Brooke says:

Bccmee, we should have a Skype day to talk about some of his worst photoshoots and how he has improved over the years.

  19. phylly3 says:

Bccmee – I was just checking my mail and saw the news about Richard Armitage’s new movie and I wondered how long it would be before someone had fun with this tornado theme? I should have guessed it would be you – and in record time too!
I’ve been considering his character’s name, as you suggested… And I heartily agree with the anti-John camp. I always used to marvel at the silliness of actor “Rip Torn”‘s name. And since I love Cary Grant… How about this for his character’s name?: Cary Offenbach!

  20. fitzg says:

    Name: Cris Stormaway
Things in the sky? Vasey in an oversized rocking chair; a bag of Fish’n’chips; a leather glove…

    Love Offenbach – Often back?

  21. Teuchter says:

Oh what fun, Bcc!! The more I looked at this the more I found things that made me laugh! 🙂 Once again you have made something brilliant out of the mere announcement of this movie. He certainly isn’t taking much of a break since The Hobbit wrapped, is he? I would have thought he’d have enjoyed a well-earned rest, but “there you go”! 😉 I have to say the very idea that we will see him in another movie is pretty thrilling!! It certainly seems that his career is indeed taking off in a big way!! 😀

    • bccmee says:

@Teuchter: Hope that RA’s career takes off into the stratosphere. I imagine that the Detroit area will require a newscast segment for Richard Armitage traffic and weather!

  22. Carolyn says:

Great graphic! He does inspire a Tornado of Love!

  23. beengizzied says:

I think the rating of this film should be SCW: Severe Chesticle Warning.

  24. wikatiepedia says:

you totally need to post this on Tumblr

  25. Holliday says:

This just totally cracked me up. Blew off his shirt AND his tats. Wow, that’s a storm all right. I too thought of The Wizard of Oz when I saw this. Unless he’s perfected his American accent, I’m thinking his character will be a Brit. I like his natural accent. I don’t know as I’d like to hear him with an American one. I can’t believe he’s jumping right back in after wrapping The Hobbit. He didn’t let the grass grow under his feet. Strike while the iron is hot. But he’s filming in America for this one. He’s not halfway across the world(well, for me he’s not, I’m in the US). I think it’s interesting that he may be working with Sarah Wayne Callies. I read she’s on the show Walking Dead, which stars Andrew Lincoln, Richard’s co-star from Strike Back.

Character name? Add me to the growing list of no John. If we’re going for the pun, Wynn D. Dey. Sorry, that was the best I could come up with(and it’s lamer than lame).

    • bccmee says:

@Holliday: Just one degree of separation between RA Sarah Wayne Callies, LOL! Good point you make. 😀 How interesting that RA is making his first American film. I do wonder about the accent too. Maybe we should have a poll to predict. 😉

Haha, I love the name Wynn D. Dey. I do like a good pun. Maybe Wynn is related to Susan Dey from The Partridge Family. *giggle*

    • Judit says:

It’s not lame at all Holliday, I absolutely love the name Wynn D. Dey!!! It’s so funny!

  26. Anonymous says:

Wynn D. Dey love it! LOVE the poster too!!!!!!

  27. mersguy says:

Thanks Bccmee, we need some light heartiness after the last few days! I do have a sudden yearning to visit Detroit though!!

  28. Ania says:

I love every detail of this poster. 🙂 Very funny! Actually I don’t like catastrophic movies, but I think Richard will change my view on this matter. 😉 RA as John Porter was very moving as a father so I can’t wait to see what will its role in the Tornado.
    P. S.
Bccmee, can I get your permission to put this poster on my blog?

  29. Judit says:

To be honest, I’m not so keen on this project either, but I’m glad he’ll have a proper actress as a leading lady. I like Sarah. I’m sure they’ll be good together! 🙂

    • bccmee says:

@Judit: I’m quite giddy and excited about this movie. While disaster films are not “high art” I do tend to gravitate toward them. I have seen so many in the past and now I get to enjoy one with RA! ♥

  30. Judit says:

My brain is totally fuzzy this morning so I can’t think of any funny titles for the movie or a good name for RA’s character…

    • bccmee says:

@Judit: This title was given to me by the internet, LOL! I went in search of tornado images and quickly found the “Tornado of Love” quite accidentally. 😉

  31. Ana Cris says:

    Hi Bcc,
Congratulations once again! I never had doubts that RA is a Tornado!

  32. saraleee says:

Oh, that poster is classic! Just hilarious. Thanks so much for brightening my morning!

  33. Joanna says:

LOL! I feel so good thanks to you,Bccmee.!:)
“It blew avay his shirt…and his tatoo”- are you kidding me? I have to buy this film;)

  34. Beverly says:

Very good. Made me laugh out loud. I love the heart tornado. And the cow.

I am glad that you didn’t have him getting his designer shoes taken away from the tornado. Then you would have some Wizard of Oz elements since there’s already a house and a tornado.
