Bill Chatford vs. Thorin Oakenshield

Welcome back! You may have noticed that I did not post yesterday as planned because my internet went out. As one of you commented, “bloody internet!” LOL! On the bright side, I had a cute cable guy come to my rescue. 😉

Here we are on the sixth day of our challenge in which we pit two different Richard Armitage characters against each other in competitions.

If you missed reading the comments on Saturday’s blogpost, I urge you to do so. There are many brilliantly funny responses. 😀

Today’s contributions come to us today from jazzbaby1 who requested Bill Chatford and Thorin Oakenshield in a facial hair contest. Regarding Richard Armitage’s character from Malice Aforethought, she wrote, “Looks to me like he’s aforethoughting something malicious right now.” Thank you very much, jazzybaby1! By the way, jazzbaby1 has a music and poetry blog: Funky Blue Dandelion. Congratulations on your first year blogiversary, jazzbaby1!

Here are your screencaps from RichardArmitageNet.Com:

Here’s your graphic which you can click for full size:

Guinness beer mustache of evil / Guinness world record Middle Earth beard / Bill Chatford vs. Thorin Oakenshield

I used to love reading the Guinness Book of World Records as a kid. I would imagine myself winning at unicycling or something, but I never learned to ride a unicycle so I did not make it into the record books! 😉

I wish Thorin would star in a version of Rapunzel. 😀

Below is your poll for the day. Here’s the link if necessary: Who has the better facial hair?

If you could be in the Guinness Book of World Records, what record would you like to break?

See you tomorrow if all goes well. I might be tempted to cut my cable line to get the cute cable guy coming over again. 😉

Really funny… my vote goes to Thorin… and I don’t know why!!!

  2. I volunteeeeeeeeeer!!! I have long red hair, I can be Rapunzel and Thorin would lend RA his looooooooong World Record Middle-Earth beard and we could play Tangled :DDDD
I have a lot of Guiness Books of Records ‘cos my youngest kid loves to read them. I imagine me entering a competition for who can eat more chocolate …. yum yum 😉 or who can stare more time at Richard’s photos, films O_O
    Thanks Bcc and jazzybaby1 🙂

  3. cdoart says:

Jazzbaby1, thank you for this pairing of RA characters and bccmee, you again made a funny graphic.
I always wanted to join the records with some kind of problem solving, like creating the most nourishment out of the least agricultural resources. But as I have no idea how to do that, I did not join the ranks either ;o)
Hm, I don’t think I need to mention for whom I voted, or do I? Hint, name does not start with a T.

    • kathryngaul says:

Hmmmmm… has anyone any idea where I might be able to buy “Malice Aforethought”, please? For some reason, Amazon doesn’t want to sell it to an Australian!!!!! Racists, or what??? 🙂

    • cdoart says:

Hello Kathryngaul. I only saw the snippets published on YouTube, as I had no luck with finding a full version of “Malice Aforethought” to buy as well.

Bccmee, could you not hint that your cable guy forgot something in your appartment, to draw him back? And when he arrives, tell him, that he forgot to eat something delicious with you ;o) To miss your wonderful creations for another day, because you cut your cable is very drastic and quite cruel to us, your fans ;o)

  4. LOL! I just don’t know what I’m going to do with you Bccmee! You just keep getting better (and do weirder things) with time! I shudder (but can’t wait) to see what’s next 🙂
I think a few of us could compete for the title of: ‘The longest stare at a photo of an actor’ (RA), or ‘Most images of a single individual saved on one home computer’. LOL!

    • kathryngaul says:

Oh, yeah…I’ll enter THAT competition 😉 Luckily, my computer has a 1.5TB harddrive! and I also have a couple of external harddrives, just in case 🙂

      • Judit says:

Kathryn, I envy you!!! 🙂 A 1,5TB harddrive!!! Sound heavenly!

        • Judit says:

          …sounds heavenly!

        • kathryngaul says:

I know that there are Aldi stores in Germany but Hungary???? Would you believe I bought my latest computer from Aldi? I also bought the 1TB external drive from there.

I bought my keyboard (with its proper handset for Skype calls on one side) from Aldi 5 years ago and it still works like a charm! 🙂

My darling children ( aged 41 and 38) get the giggles when I buy something new. The little darlings always ask, “So, Mum, did this …….come from Aldi, K-Mart or the Reject shop?”. The Reject Shop doesn’t actually sell rejects, just cheap stuff, eg. 50 TDK CDs for $12 and they’re just fine!

I’ve never been into an American K-Mart as Melanie won’t take me there – she says, They are terrible, Mum, and at least ours are clean and have some half-way decent stuff!” 🙂

      • Teuchter says:

I think I’ll need to get some external harddrives too as the number of RA pictures far outstrips the total of all the other pictures I have stored and that includes ALL my family ones put together!! 🙂 I’m afraid I just can’t help myself when it comes to him. I just have to snaffle them from wherever I come across them! 😉 I can sit forever as they appear on my screen’s slide show! A new one every 10 seconds or so! Yumm!! Many of them still take my breath away even if I see them every day, and I find myself saying, “He’s just SO beautiful!!” *sigh*

        • Teuchter says:

Nearly forgot! Thank you for the great screencaps, jazzbaby1 and for the brilliant job you did with them Bcc. The graphic had me in stitches!

        • kathryngaul says:

          Yes, thank you, ladies.

        • kathryngaul says:

I hadn’t thought to make the pics into a slideshow…duh! I merely change my desktop background every couple of days so I get to say “‘night, ‘night” to a gorgeous guy! 😉

      • Judit says:

Yes, we do have Aldi stores in Hungary! However there are none in the district I live in so I don’t think I’ve ever actually been in one. 🙂 An external drive sounds like a good idea! And very useful indeed, especially for someone in the throes of Armitagemania! 😉

  5. jazzbaby1 says:

This.Is.RAD! I love the Guinness Mustache of Evil! On the Guinness Book of World Records, a neighbor of mine was on a team that submitted something when she was in college. She and a group of friends from her dorm created the world’s largest Monopoly board the week before finals her junior year. I can’t remember if they actually made it in or not but she showed me photos of the board and it was indeed epic.

    • bccmee says:

@jazzbaby1: How cool that your neighbor participated in a Guinness World Record attempt! It sounds like fun.

Thanks again for your contributions to our collaboration! 😀

  6. april73 says:

Bravo Bccmee for the grafic and I love your pic choice Jazzbaby. I have the dvd of “Malice Aforethought” but I haven’t seen it yet for the moment. I know… shame on me ! lol

Congratulations for your 1st year blogiversary Jazzbaby1. 🙂

  7. Emma says:

bccmee, you are SO clever and funny! The addition of Bilbo, with that particlular look…. Brilliant!

  8. Judit says:

Great as usual, Bcc and thanks jazzbaby for the pics. Sorry Bill- voted for Thorin! 🙂 Loooovely long beard! Would have to do something with it for the battle scenes though- like throw it over his shoulder ?- we wouldn’t want him to trip over his own beard, would we? 🙂 I’d like to break “the longest cuddle with a well-known English actor” record! 😀

  9. Judit says:

Bcc, you should call the cable guy and tell him your connection is still not working properly and when he arrives to your place to have a look ask him out for a drink! 🙂

  10. vec170203 says:

THORIN!!! All that hair is so sexy….
and about Guinness, all I can say is Sláinte!!!

  11. ItsJSforMe says:

Mmmm…Thorin!!!!!! (Bill who??) Love it, bcc!

    Happy blogiversary, Jazzy!!!!

  12. Carolyn says:

Glad your internet is working today! Great siggie! I voted for Bill just to be ornery LOL

  13. Ania says:

Very funny! Love it! I voted for Thorin!

  14. Holliday says:

I had to vote for Thorin. I’m presently reading The Hobbit(read it years ago but couldn’t remember much of the story). It’s kind of a strange book. Every time I read Thorin’s parts I always hear Richard’s voice. As for a Guinness record for me, it would either be something along the lines of the amount of peanut butter consumed in a short span of time or the number of books read in a short span of time(I usually read two books at a time, but impatience to read The Hobbit bumped me up to four). The most I’ve had going at one time was fifteen, which is why I only allow myself two at a time. Sometimes I backslide though.

    • kathryngaul says:

Oh, my Lord, I used to be like that, too….when I was much much younger and could concentrate and remember!!

I have listened to the audiobook of “The Hobbit” 7 times now and I’m still loving it madly. Rob Inglis has such a great voice…not as good as Richard’s, of course 😉 but not bad.

I’m listening to LOTN for the umpteenth – I can never get enough of Richard’s wonderful voice. I want him to keep doing narrations when he decides he’s too old for acting/directing/producing 🙂

      • kathryngaul says:

        “umpteenth time”…….slow down, Kathryn!

        • Teuchter says:

It’s okay! I kept looking at the word “umpteenth” and thinking, “what the heck is wrong with that???? 🙂 Took me a minute to realize that you were talking about the missing “time” even though it was staring me in the face!! LOL!! Senior moment or what???????????? 😀

        • kathryngaul says:

I’m so glad that you have “senior moments”, too, Teuchter! It’s good to know I’m not Robinson Crusoe 😉

Your username has always fascinated me…it sounds a bit like a German word or one of Germanic origin. My email address is simply my username as is followed by the “at” sign then iprimus dot com dot au…if you’re happy to tell me what it means. But only if you wish. I’m a nosey-parker and you and everyone else must never feel obliged to tell me anything……OK? 🙂

My surname comes from Ireland and means “alien” or “foreigner”!!!! I like to think my ancestors came to Ireland from Celtic Gaul !!!!!! My darling Asha (5 in October and a very bright little spark usually!)was very impressed when I showed her the word “Gaul” written across part of the map of Europe in my Asterix the Gaul comic! Can you remember them?

  15. Giggles on the long beard competition, Bccmee and Jazzy,

Considering all the LOTR Fanboyz “brew “ha ha about, your challenge is quite clever.

And the fact that you had Bilbo grooming Thorin is perfect! Might that be your prediction that Richard Armitage’s star will rise faster when the film is released? Let’s hope so. I’m getting my telescope ready. I predict that RA’s star will go positively stratospheric.

    Cheers! Grati ;->

  16. tyme4t says:

I suddenly have a craving for a Guinness! But I have to admit that after I stopped giggling at the pictures in the graphic I thought it was going to be a “Got Milk?” reference…then I realized that Bill had a foam on his lip…

Guinness record I would like to break – Easy one – Longest kiss with RA!!!!!! (it could happen – I gotta have goals 😉 )

  17. Joanna says:

    ROTFLOL!..this is just…uh..words fail me.!:D Girls,you are incredibile!… Thanks for the laugh!

  18. bccmee says:

@Everyone: Thanks so much for your entertaining and educational comments! I appreciate the advice about the cable guy too, LOL!

Nice choices for your possible Guinness Records which would involve kissing, cuddling, staring, reading, peanut butter and chocolate! 😛
