Welcome to day 21 of A Graphic a Day in May 2012.
Today’s image of Richard Armitage as Lucas North was submitted by Ana Cristina. Thank you, Ana Cristina! You can find her on twitter with the username @KristAraujo.
By the way, I would like to remind you that I am not posting our graphics in any order. For example, Ana Cristina was #4 in the queue, but I’m posting hers on the 21st! 😀
Here is your base image:
And here’s your graphic of the day:
Ana Cristina recommended the song “Bring Me to Life” sung by Evanescence.
This is our first animated gif of the month. If it doesn’t play for you, please try a different browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc. Remember that animated gifs will only play in your browser and not your computer’s photo viewer. 🙂 Also, animated gifs will not play if they are resized. Other than those differences, you can save and use them as you would any other image.
To start this graphic, I cut out the Lucas North figure. Then I chose to put him against a skyline so I found this image for the background:
I wanted the lights to blink on and off so I used copy & paste or the Clone tool to create a new “dark” layer above each set of lights. Then I opened the Animation panel and set it to Frame Animation. I made sure all the lights were off for the first frame, duplicated the first frame, and then turned several of the lights on. Duplicated that frame, and revealed more lights. I did this for a total of nine frames and set the timing for 1 second each. Finally, I used the File > Save for Web & Devices command to save it as an animated gif.
There seemed no need for a caption! Hope you enjoy this animation. I honestly believe Richard Armitage has the best profile of any actor. ♥
Can you think of an original superhero role for Richard Armitage? And how does Lucas North power the lights on and off?
