Graphic a Day in May 2012 – Day 9

Welcome to day 9 of A Graphic a Day in May. It’s jacqui_coinyard’s birthday so I am posting her result today.  Happy birthday, jacqui_coinyard!birthday

Here is today’s base image, which is jacqui_coinyard’s own screencap:

Lucy Griffiths as Lady Marian and Richard Armitage as Sir Guy

Here is your graphic:

All I need to know

I did not cut out the characters in the base image. Thanks to jacqui_coinyard’s song choice, “Don’t Know Much,” I went with the love theme.

To start off, I lightened the image using the Image > Auto Tone command in Photoshop. Then I applied the Porcelain filter from Xero Freeware Plugins.

There was plenty of space to fill and what better to fill it with than another Guy picture? ♥ I snaffled the following image from RichardArmitageNet.Com:

I applied the same effects to this picture and masked out (erased) part of the image and tilted it a bit. I also added a drop shadow to give this figure some depth.

Finally, I added the text “All I need to know” in the Beyond Wonderland font. The choice of tagline came from the lyrics of the song.

Guy and Marian look quite lovely together in the top screencap. ♥ Are you a Guy/Marian shipper?

  7. gracie says:

I am a Guy Shipper alright. Marian, not so much. The woman is obviously missing some kind of gene because how on earth was she able to resist GUY! I mean, look at him. Because I am so not technically savvy, I will simply scotch tape a picture of myself next to your graphic Guy’s come-hither look, on my laptop screen! LOL…. Once again, puuuurfect choice of picture/graphic.

Happy Birthday Jacqui. May all your wishes come true.

  8. Happy Birthday jacqui_coinyard!!!!!
Excellent work Bccmee, as usual, and great choice of picture and song jacqui. ” …. that would be exactly all that Guy would need to know ”
    🙂

    • april73 says:

Good luck with four fanfic Jacqui. I’m also writing a fanfic with Guy of Gisborne (in French), and it’s not so easy lol.

The end of the story is already written… but the middle is missing, lol.

  17. jacqui_coinyard says:

PS I think I’m a Guy/Marian shipper the show would have been so much better if they kept the Marian character alive.

  18. tyme4t says:

Another well done siggie! I I love the base screencap because of the looks on their faces. Cheers to you both!

Oh, Bccmee today’s graphic with Sir Guy is gorgeous!!!

  21. beengizzied says:

    Happy birthday jacqui_coinyard.
I just love Guy’s sideburns and we get two looks here.
Plus two incarnations of his lovely locks: so sleek on the right (I guess every henchman needs a blow dry from time to time?) but so wavy with wayward strands resting on his lovely neck on the left.
    Nice double shot bccmee.

  22. jeanniegisborne says:

Everything fits so well together. I love jacqui_coinyard’s screencap! Wonderful job, B 🙂

  23. Hi Bccmee and Jacqui,

  26. Mariana says:

Happy Birthday Jacqui! Splendid sig Bccmee! And splendid Guy, as usual!

  27. Judit says:

Happy Birthday Jacqui! Gorgeous sig as usual, Bcc!

  28. bccmee says:

@Everyone: You’re very generous with your birthday wishes to jacqui_coinyard and I totally hope she had a lovely day. We all get the gift of Guy! Times two! ♥

By the way, a “Guy/Marian shipper” is someone who “worships” the “relationship” between Guy and Marian. I really thought they should get together. Would’ve made for a fantastic storyline and I remember Richard Armitage saying that in an interview once. The two of them do look very romantic in the top image. It is tempting to tape a picture of oneself in place of Marian, LOL! What was wrong with Marian anyway? My guess is she’s not stupid, she’s just written that way (to paraphrase a line from Who Framed Roger Rabbit).

The hair really is quite delectable in both pictures. *sigh* LOL re: blow drying henchmen! Yes, it’s hard to resist those curls along Guy’s neck. He’s of another time when long hair was very seductive. 😉

Thanks again for all your comments!

    • april73 says:

Thanks for the explanation Bccmee concerning the “shipper”. 🙂

Indeed, Marian and Guy would made a lovely couple… but Guy need to find another job. Working for the Sheriff is not good for him, lol.

And I think that Marian will have married Guy if Robin hasn’t return from Holly Land. 😉

  29. magwi says:

Happy (belated) birthday, jacqui_coinyard! 🙂 Good choice of piccie and good job bccmee.

I love what you’ve done with the tone of the images bccmee; they both look radically better. Also love how soft and cuddly Guy looks. *swoon* And that font is scrummy (as is Guy 😉 )

Sorry, I’m a bit late in viewing. 😦

  30. Teuchter says:

Very belated birthday greetings, jacqui! I hope you had a wonderful day.

I thought I had commented on this graphic yesterday but I see I hadn’t! The colours you used seem to enhance how beautiful both Guy and Marian look there. Thank you for this romantic interlude!! 🙂 The song choice goes well with it. The second picture of Guy leaning into Marian is wonderful and I like the larger image from RANet. Oh those GREAT thighs!! It is lovely to be reminded what he said to her in this scene! “Be with me”!! NO need to guess what his intentions were at that moment! 😉 *gasp* How I wish the script had been different!!! 😀
