Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield is magnificent! Mr. Armitage’s voice, his physicality, his demeanor, etc., reflect a gravitas for Thorin that is stunning! I say again, stunning! And then, he sings in his timberous velvety Shakespearean trained baritone and I am a completely awe at his wonderful character portrayal.

I’m still in a coma, just regained conscious to thank you for the link and the transcripts. Our boy is amazing and I can’t add anything more to waht has already been said on his voice and looks. To say I am the happiest girl in the world (well along with the rest of you) I can’t stop crying…I feel like a mum at the nativity play…just immensely proud…what a brilliant way to start Christmas. I think that, when we finally see Thorin in his fully glory, he may become my favorite RA character ever. I find listening to “Over the Misty Mountains” is almost hypnotic. Isn’t Richard’s voice lovely? And the harmonies are beautiful. I have loved The Hobbit from the first time I read it over 30 years ago so , to see it finally coming to life in such a wonderful form (and with such a wonderful “form” in it), is a dream come true.
“Thorin Recovery Unit”!! LOL!!!!! You’re too funny but so right!! I’ve been here for most of the day and find I’m not up to leaving!! It may take some time as I still have a certain voice still singing in my ears!! 😉
