That is so true–Richard’s physicality “is sheer art!” Richard as Guy–or Lucas, or any of his character portrayals for that matter–is pure poetry in motion.

Very good choice NovemberBride. I love this scene too , when Marian accept to marry him and he react in a so sexy way. As Elaine says : we can feel the tension and I love absolutely that. Some of us would’nt let him be so frustrated but Marian have never taken her chance (blind maid? Stupid girl? or story writen by men who don’t understand anything about women? L.O.L.).

Agree wholeheartedly with your comment, Lady Prisca! Great choice NB and a fantastic gif once again. 🙂 But another thought just came to me. I wonder if we are giving the writers enough credit in this case. If you watch the DVD extras and listen to what Dom and Foz said about Guy, something to the effect that in their minds, Marion is “stirred by him in our heads – and who wouldn’t be? He’s great!” Also as the season progressed they must have become aware of the stir Guy was creating and that probably more women ended up watching – maybe even a lot more – than the pre-teen and teenage boys the show was meant to target initially!! From the start they maybe didn’t count on the impact his character would have on women. Francis Temple obviously latched on to it when she designed Guy’s costumes the way she did and I believe she said that Robin was supposed to be the main male in the show.”but because of the casting, it didn’t turn out like that!!” D’ya think?? Robin’s boyishness was no match for sexy leather-clad Guy, that’s for sure!!

When I discovered Richard in “Robin Hood”, my reaction was : Woooow !!! What’s THAT ??? And after : swoon and thud, LOL.
@Lady Prisca: I think you’re right of course. Marian should’ve married Guy but of course that would be very contrary to the legend. Oh, but what a show if they’d married! I would totally tune into that program for years to come, LOL!
I know that at this moment of the story it was too earlier for this marriage to be successful, but marriage is not the one option. L.O.L. . Some kisses and sweet words and sexy moments would have been of good taste before feelings grow between them. I’ve got the “good” story in my mind. L.O.L.
LOL!! “men who don’t understand anthing about women”…I’m thinking you nailed it Lady P!!!! I was holding my breath during that entire scene…”what was Marian going to say/ask?” “How was Guy going to react?” “what would HE say in response?” “Would he just grab her and run?” “Would she take one look at him and run?” So many possibilities. And he just does that frustrated/relieved pirouette (thanks for the ballet reference, Alfie!). He knows he didn’t tell her the whole truth but she believes him…and that is her final answer. Yay! Let’s plan a wedding. Or not. sigh.

That was a very exciting turn of events. Would she or wouldn’t she accept? Of course we know that she couldn’t go through with the wedding but they sure waited till the last possible second to thwart it! So at least we had a wedding sequence. It just didn’t reach completion. At least we have enough fodder for graphics, fanvids and fanfic. 😉
