Here we are on day 3 of the October Animated GIF Challenge. I’ve been out and about all weekend hanging with friends so I’ve not had time to count up the number of requests, but I feel pretty sure there’s room for more! If you’re just joining us, I’m creating one animated gif each day based on your requests. All you need to do is choose a scene of a Richard Armitage character and I’ll make the animated gif. You can submit your request by adding a comment below or sending me a message via the Contact bccmee link above. Please be as specific as possible and include which season and episode your scene is from.
Today’s animated gif is dedicated to Brooke who asked for John Thornton. I liked this scene very much as it sets up the conflict and tension between John and Margaret nicely.
“I believe your daughter and I have already met.” Oh you know it, JT! 😀
Richard Armitage the actor certainly knows how to move his body in character. I simply love John Thornton’s haughty look when he turns around.
Here is your animated gif:
There is still time to make your scene recommendations! Till tomorrow….
Be still my heart. Just watched N&S again over the weekend. The moment in today’s gif is both haughty and hot, hot, hot!!! Great job once again.
“Haughty and hot!” That’s great, Elaine! 😀 John Thornton really transforms quite organically throughout the show. Thanks so much for your comment.
Awesome job! Love this movie and rewatch it quite often.
N&S definitely bears repeated viewing, I agree, minnie! Such a great cast and a breakout performance from Richard Armitage.
Oh yes! That is such an iconic scene! So perfect for a gif. Love it!
You know these little gifs are like chocolates. At the end of the month we will have such a lovely collection!
What a sweet sentiment, phylly3! (Pun intended.) 😀 Thank you so much for your lovely comment.
*So lovely to meet you, Mr. Thornton* 😉
Loved it!
Mmm, yes, it is very lovely we have all met Mr. Thornton, PoliCBA! Such a classic character.
Three years ago I fell in love in this particular moment:)
I was like….WTF…who is this guy?
The rest is (pathetic) history:)
Wow, that’s a great story, Joanna. And the tale continues, LOL!
Hi Bcc
Meet Mr Thornton was a gift to us all!
I remember the phrase that exploded in my mind: Who is this man?
Congratulations again for your creativity, your blog and many others have been critical to keeping the small community of RA united and happy.
Oh indeed, Ana Cris! We are lucky to live in a time when Richard Armitage’s work has been committed to film so we can enjoy it repeatedly! Thanks so much for all your support!
Mr. A does haughty so well! He has so much screen presence. NICE gif/gift, bccmee and Brooke!
You have a way with words, my dear fitzg! He does have the most amazing screen presence… it’s a mystery to me how he does it so well. *sigh*
Lovely gif! I love when he looks in this way.
Thank you, Ania! Mr. Thornton looks so amazing in this scene. In all of his scenes, actually! 😛
How many of us were madly in love with him from that very moment? *sigh*
Iconic, classic, unforgettable… Thanks, Bccmee!
He is a joy to behold, fabi. Thank you for your comment. 🙂
John Thornton! This is where my “romance” with Richard Armitage began for me. 😉 Lost count how many times I have watched that series! I never cease to marvel at his ability to convey so much with just a glance! 🙂
There are almost too many wonderful scenes of his in everything he has done that it is nearly impossible to choose just one, but how about John Porter’s dream love-making scene with Danni while he was in Chikurubi prison just as she pushes the shirt off his shoulders. I can’t help wondering if he was dreaming about something that actually took place or what he was wishing for? 😀
John Thornton will probably always be Richard Armitage’s breakout role, Teuchter. I’m so glad he was cast so his talent could be enjoyed by us all!
As for your John Porter scene recommendation, that is a great choice! I will have it done before the end of the month. Thanks so much for participating!
Wonderfully captured moment, bccmee!!! I love his visible change of behaviour, when he recognizes to whom he is introduced.
Absolutely, CDoart! I am amazed at the way Richard Armitage is able to reveal so much in just a glance.
Hi,bccmee
I have seen your work lately and each time more you have surprised us. This gift story is a wonderful idea. There isn´t better thing than to see R.A in several different ways . I`ve adored JT gift. I also would like to suggest to you a Gisborne gift. I liked the idea of Jules. A scene of RH, season 2 ep3 .It´s a little funny. Sheriff hits in the armour that Gisborne is holding and he makes a grimace . Gisborne amuses and grins.
I know that this scene is a bit long, but Gisborne´s grin is adorable.
Thanks for your suggestion, Tereza. I don’t remember that scene, but I look forward to making that animated gif! It sounds hilarious!
Btw, RA as JT is priceless. This scene is memorable in N&S.
Keep up the good job,bccmee!
Thank you, Tereza! You’re very kind. 🙂
There is some man with Rev Hale and you do not know who it is and then HE turns around and steals all of our hearts. And there is the moment, again and again and again. Wonderful!
Well-said, Kathleen! Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment.
Ahhhh, yes! That’s the moment when I finally had a face to go with all my historical romance heros!
Thanks again, Carolyn! You are so generous with your comments. Have you any requests?
The wonderful Mr Thorton, Richard was simply superb in this role. Sooo handsome, be still my ever beating heart…sigh
Even though Richard Armitage joked that John Thornton “dressed like an undertaker” I agree with you that he is incredibly handsome, mersguy! ♥
He sure can pirouette beautifully both as Lucas and now JT. He casts such a spell, I sometimes forget to breathe 🙂
He is a sight to behold, Pamela, and I agree he’s positively breathtaking. 😀
Love the animated gif. One of the best fictional Victorian men. Bccmee, we need to watch this miniseries someday. Thank you for post and gif. You do a great job creating this content.
Thanks for your participation, Brooke. I really appreciate the suggestion.
Oh, I love this moment!
By the way, could you email me to let me know how to share these wonderful gifs on my blog?
Thanks very much, grendel’s mum. I’ll send you the email in the next day or two. 🙂
Thanks, bccmee! All settled!

That gif is perfect… perfect, I tell you! I look forward to more. 🙂
Thanks, Nat! I hope you have a recommendation too. 😀 There are still some slots I’m trying to fill.
One of my very favourite N&S scenes. I gasp every time I see it, just can ‘t help myself!
I totally understand, IngeD3. Richard Armitage’s performance is remarkable!
