cRAy cRAy video challenge – week 4

Welcome to the fourth week of our fan video challenge! I’m still overwhelmed at the number of great song recommendations you made. If I had time, I could make a video a week for the next year with your music selections.

This week’s fan video music choice comes from Ali at RichardArmitageNet.Com. The song is “Play Dead” by Björk. If you aren’t doing so already, I encourage you to make a daily visit to RichardArmitageNet.Com:  http://www.richardarmitagenet.com. If you have Richard Armitage-related news to report or you would like to request a Picture of the Day, you can always send an e-mail from the link on her site. Thanks for the great choice of song and all you do for the Richard Armitage community, Ali! 🙂

Here’s today’s Picture of the Day with Lucas looking positively luscious.

Richard Armitage as Lucas North

Picture of the Day, 26 September 2011

How does he do it? The Lucas North character is stunning–he makes my head swim the English Channel!

Here’s the video on YouTube:

Again, I so appreciate all the input you give! Here’s a link to download it if you want to watch it offline: http://www.mediafire.com/?pe5jxt998uuecaw

I have an idea for another fanvideo and I still have a couple in progress. Not sure when I’ll finish, but you’ll be the first to know!

  1. Wauw!! Very different style, I’d never guess you made it if not for the end 😉

  2. jazzbaby1 says:

I love the look of this one a LOT and the song is fantastic. And don’t we all want a little…uh, you know.

    • bccmee says:

I had the surprise ending finished before the chat and I couldn’t believe that you posted that video, LOL! Thanks for your comment and all the support, jazzbaby1.

  3. Elaine says:

Another fabulous RA video. What will we all do next Monday without another one?!

Here in Canada, Spooks is called MI-5 and I’m currently watching season 1 – it’s going to be awhile before I get to Lucas North, so thanks for the preview!

    Have a great week.

  4. Ania says:

What can I say … it’s just perfect!
Oh, Guy and the Sheriff arm in arm ha ha ha and even singing Vindaloo, really funny 🙂

  5. fitzg says:

Your vids are exciting! Lucas is one of my three favourite characters. And Dying Swan dress notwithstanding, love Bjork. Many thanks for another great vid.

    • bccmee says:

Haha, I remember the “dying swan” dress, fitzg! I agree about Bjork–she’s quite original. I used to wish she and Beck would marry. Maybe they could’ve named their firstborn Bjeck. 😉

  6. Carolyn says:

Great video of my favorite spy, Lucas! It is different and I love it, loved the song, also. LOL, I love your endings, always a laugh!

  7. I love this video. I commented on YT. Great editing!

  8. servetus says:

Great editing, though I can’t understate how much I dislike the song. Great editing!!!!

    • bccmee says:

Your comment made me laugh but it also impresses me that you can watch a video with a song you don’t like! Perhaps I should make a full-length video with the Vindaloo song. 😉

  9. I love the video, love the song and love Lucas!
The perfect mix of stunning glances and action scenes.
And for every video a funny surprise in the end!

  10. Elaine says:

Hi back! I’ve been pvr-ing MI-5 but it seems to have disappeared from the listings this week. Might have to find it on DVD. I often buy British DVDs through Barnes and Noble when we go to Buffalo (our shopping home away from home) – that’s where I found North and South and the Vicar of Dibley wedding DVD. RA movies/shows are addictive.

    • bccmee says:

I do own most of RA’s works now. It’s great to be able to watch them whenever I want although there’s also something to be said for the shared experience of a TV show. 🙂

  11. Alfie says:

Beautiful beautiful done. Loove all the special effects (is that the name?) – yes a different vid, but nevertheless so very you. Thank you – the download has started 🙂

  12. CDoart says:

What a wonderful and suggestive editing of the Spooks clips!!! I love the tight storyline and, though not the song in itself, the song-text and its connection to your video-story. The overlay effect is brilliant. I thought it might become annoying, but not in so able hands as yours. It well supported the storyline and made it a gripping report!!! (And strangely has a bit of a voyeuristic effect ;o)
(Thank you very much for the download. The YT-video is already blocked for Germany.)

    • bccmee says:

Yes, I realize the video is blocked in Germany. Such a shame! I wonder why that is? Anyway, I’m delighted you were able to watch it and still find some enjoyment even though you didn’t like the song, CDoart. 🙂 Regarding the overlay, I decided to go with the scan lines throughout rather than having them appear and disappear. I’m glad that wasn’t annoying! 😉

      • CDoart says:

Oh, not annoying at all, brilliant and wonderful!!! I watched your video several times by now. The part where a child-murder is suggested (?), wonderful effects and I can’t get enough. I am sorry you are so far away, otherwise I would ask you for lessons!
The GEMA in Germany is restricting the videos, because they could not come to an agreement with YT about what they wanted as fee for every playing of a music piece. The requested amount was astronomically higher than what YT could get back in from posting advertisements. The GEMA is a private society dominating all rights in the music and audio sector, even of those musicians who are not even members. They even block videos from the bands and musicians themselves, who post them to advertise their new albums. As soon as the music is detected in your video, the video will be blocked.

        • bccmee says:

Thanks for the explanation about GEMA, CDoart. Such a shame.

I didn’t mean for the child to represent a murder victim, but rather as Lucas as a boy. 🙂

As for a vidding lesson, I just gave one over Skype. Let me know if that interests you.

  13. judiang says:

Wow, this is much different from your others. Brilliant editing (how did you do that?) and nice effects. Don’t see where you were hung up because it looks marvelous to me. Fabulous.

  14. Kathleen Evans says:

Another fanvid to love! This one has some of my favorite Lucas scenes from Spooks, kind of a greatest hits. Liked the Vindaloo video too. Isn’t wonderful how the British have embraced Indian food. Thanks again.

  15. beengizzied says:

OK, bccmee, well it might be ungrateful to reduce my comment to my favourite bit BUT …
The best bit for me in this video is two seconds from 1.02 to 1.04 where he pirouettes in slow mo with his gun. I deeply crave that as a gif to use as my avi.

    Hint. Hint.

Did I mention that I love the way you love Lucas?

  16. Christianne Bailey says:

Yes! Another Lucas video! That made my week so much better already. I’ll just have to watch this again on Tuesday, and Wednesday, and Thursday, and…
Great editing on this one & using one of my favourite Björk songs too. Another five star effort – these are just getting better & better 🙂

    • bccmee says:

Lucas is one of the most attractive characters I’ve ever seen. The camera loves him and I can see why there are so many fantastic shots of him. Glad you enjoyed the video and song, Christianne!

  17. Teuchter says:

A Lucas video!! Yay!! You can never go wrong with that in my eyes!! I loved it! 🙂 Even though the music wasn’t my personal cup of tea it didn’t stop me from enjoying the video because It fitted so well. I’ve always found that “blue Lucas” picture above truly stunning. 😀 I only wish this wasn’t the last Monday as I’ve looked forward to them so much. So thank you so much Bccmee for making them so memorable. I do hope you’ll do some more soon. Your endings give me such a kick!! 🙂

BTW I found Nicola Walker’s comment on Ali’s website re Richard in Spooks 9 quite intriguing. She at least seemed to appreciate how hard it must have been for him to reverse his whole Lucas character.

    • bccmee says:

Yes, I also love that screencap, Teuchter. I looked long and hard through the gallery at RichardArmitageNet.Com and settled on that one for its special exquisiteness. 🙂 Thank you so much for your kind words on my video, Teuchter.

As for the interview by Nicola Walker, I agree that was very interesting how she talked about Richard Armitage the actor and his Spooks character.

  18. Summer says:

Absolutely gorgeous! Love everything about the video, the stunning Lucas, the selection of clips, the texture effects & the fantastic song choice!
Too bad your cRAy cRAy challenge came to and end 😦 Hope you find the time to surprise us with a new one soon 🙂
Thank you, it has been so much fun! 🙂

  19. phylly3 says:

Yep! You did it again! You made me enjoy a musical selection I would normally never listen to. You have such a gift for this.
I had to Google the Vindaloo reference. I had no idea that Keith Allen was in a music video! See? I learn something new everyday! Thanks for that too!

    • bccmee says:

*giggling* When I saw the “Vindaloo” music video with Keith Allen, I was entranced! Had to include it. There’s a connection here too: Ali told me that Keith Allen is in the official Björk music video for “Play Dead” so it was a clincher! Thanks for your comment, phylly3. 😀

  20. Dhana says:

Bcc, you never cease to amaze me!! Fantastic editing. Loved the effects! 🙂

  21. Pamela says:

What A Man! (Sorry for the brevity of my comment but I’m busy hyperventilating :))

  22. Thanks so much for sharing another yummy yummy Lucas! Those eyes!!
Oh and I think it’s a great idea to make us laugh at the end, after the beautiful but poignantly sad scenes.

    • bccmee says:

Generally I don’t put surprise endings on my serious videos, but in honor of the challenge, I really wanted to do so. 🙂 Thanks again for all your support in the RA community, grendel’s mum.

  23. Musa/Fabo says:

You should direct a feature length film! Truly!
    …with RA!
My favorite RA role, Lucas, and this has to be on top of my favorite videos list because it really captures the character perfectly. I almost cried….
…but the end made me laugh 🙂
    Thank you!

  24. Brooke says:

Great job on the video and choice of music.

  25. NovemberBride says:

oh my. Mercy me. Really really nice! Music not the greatest but I did like the beat and the bass guitar bit throughout. A lot! Did it seem that the singer was in a hole? Maybe just me. An artsy fartsy attitude well done and especially the little march with the Sheriff and Guy! I make a motion Sept isn’t officially over until Halloween. Do I hear any nays? Yep, it’s unanimous. Sept. continues on ….

    • bccmee says:

Haha, NovemberBride! I’ll have to double-check my calendar to see if you’re being truthful. 😉 LOL re: the hole! There is a band called Hole so maybe I can use their music next. They probably haven’t been used for a Richard Armitage video yet.

Thanks again and again for all your support and creative talents!

  26. fabi says:

That’s the perfect finishing touch to an amazing month, Bccmee! Oh, those beautiful blue eyes…like the sea on a sunny day. (Now I have to watch Spooks 7 again.) 😀

    • bccmee says:

*big sigh* I love those eyes too, fabi! Lucas is so gorgeous all around, but there is something special about his eyes. 🙂 Thanks for your comment!

  27. Ana Cris says:

    Hi Bcc
I have been away, but I have to congratulate you by your latest video, especially if it’s with Lucas North! ;0)

  28. Thais says:

Hey, Bcc Mee! Sorry for taking so long to write you something about the last video. Busy days… I love Lucas North despite all. RA is really charming playing this character. The song is perfect!!!! Great suggestion from Ali!!! Wonderful choice! You’ve completed the September challenge amazingly!!! Thanks for giving us beautiful videos. =D

    • bccmee says:

Thank you for taking the time to comment, Thais! I understand busy schedules, LOL! I really appreciate your kind words on the video and Ali’s song choice. Hope you’re having a great weekend.

  29. Lady Prisca says:

It’s true that Richard is very charming in Spooks.
I absolutely love the funny ending of this vid.
    Good work Bccmee!
